Description We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. Based in Walbridge, Ohio, this role focuses on project setups, budgets, forecasting, and supporting project financial planning. You will work closely with the accounting department and project team to ensure the highest standards of financial control and accuracy.Responsibilities: Collaborate with the project team to set up projects and budgets in accounting software Coordinate with project team to ensure all project information is accurate within the system Review and maintain financial controls and document controls to ensure a high degree of quality and accuracy in project cost allocations Develop and maintain cost reports for accurate monthly reporting Conduct monthly cost reviews with project team to assist with job cost tracking, profitability projections, and investigation of any variances Generate weekly equipment reports and process equipment charges appropriately Compile Ad Hoc reports per requests from various departments Raise awareness to potential issues, propose solutions to the team and promote implementation Review cost coding on employee timesheets and correct/set-up as appropriate Adapt to changing project requirements and unforeseen circumstances. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting in a construction/contractor industry Proficiency in accounting software systems is required In-depth knowledge of accounting functions and procedures Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes Familiarity with budget processes and cost accounting principles Proven skills in cost analysis and financial reporting Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized with attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
