In fact, we’re the only hospital in northwest Ohio to receive this honor. POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for newborn infant hearing screenings as mandated by the State of Ohio Department of Health. Conducts universal newborn hearing screenings (OAE and/or BAER) on all infants born at or transferred to the hospital or as ordered by physicians. This position may encompass responsibilities for both the per diem staff as well as the full time/Part time technician.ACCOUNTABILITIESEnsures all lock/door/code access to new employees during their orientation period. Ensures and verifies all computer access for site specific equipment during new employee orientation period. This may include preparation prior to and also follow up after. (FT/PT)
Complete all Ohio Train trainings that are required through the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and the public health audiologist.
Conducts all universal infant hearing screenings on babies born at or transferred to the hospital or as ordered by Physicians.
Obtains pertinent history as required to complete forms and IPHIS hearing tab information.
Prepares all test results for review by Audiologist (FT/PT)
Completes all electronic charting, including dropping appropriate charges, and scanning Infant Progress Report into EPIC, as well as routing results to appropriate physicians, all completed on a timeline as designated by ODH (Ohio Department of Health)
Complete Infant Progress report with appropriate history provided, obtaining signature when parent is available.
Provide nursery with a list of babies and results for the charge nurse. (FT/PT)
Enters hearing test results into IPHIS (FT/PT)
Reports follow up statistics to ODH when requested. (FT/PT)
Maintains report format for statistics on Infant Hearing screening program, monthly as well as yearly. (FT/PT)
Maintains and initiates contact with families in need of follow up at the 1 month and also 3 month point. (FT/PT)
Maintains equipment and notifies M-F mentor or manager when supplies are low.
Monitors calibration and cleaning schedule on all equipment. (FT/PT)
Maintains schedule for per diem staff at least one month in advance and gives a copy of said schedule to each nursery at least one month ahead of the current month. (FT/PT)
CPR/BLS completion is required prior to first solo weekend.Education: High School diploma

Requires good interpersonal skills and adequate speaking skills. Must have a good working knowledge of computers. WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical Demands: Must be able to move about facility, between workstations; and push equipment. Must be able to tolerate exposure to chemicals. Must be able to occasionally lift or carry light to medium weight materials, equipment, or patients.
