The Avery Dennison Identification Solutions group is looking for a Controls Engineer to join the team at our manufacturing site in Miamisburg, Ohio. In this position, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and provide continuous improvement and troubleshooting of all electrical/electronic systems. Provides electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic expertise to the Maintenance, Engineering and Operations departments to ensure continuous plant operations and high efficiency. Ability to work cross-functionally, build effective relationships, and knowledge of electrical/electronic systems are key to the role. ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintenance of plant controls systems including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface applications, Vision Systems, Industry 4.0 OT systems, Electronic Drives, and Instrumentation.  Assist Maintenance and Engineering with troubleshooting of process disturbances.  Provide support for manufacturing operations to resolve production and quality issues that arise on a day-to- day basis.Perform effective root cause problem solving to solve process issues associated with equipment and/or machine performance.Assist in development of capital plans to support the divisional drives and controls strategy.Develop a long term plan for updating controls hardware/software/firmware to allow for capital planning.  Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, inspect circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.Work from schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.Create and update electrical schematics and drawings.Drive standardization of drive and controls systems and SCADA systems throughout the site; assess gaps against best practices and develop plans to close gaps.Interact with the Maintenance and Engineering team to ensure equipment reliability.Identify safety issues, support safety initiatives, and recommend and implement effective solutions.Provides support for technology upgrade projects to improve product quality and manufacturing effectiveness.Conduct training of employees for proper use of control systems as your expertise is
