Job DescriptionThe Senior Transportation Analyst is a vital member of the Materials Group, responsible for the creation, development, and implementation of cost control strategies. This role demands a high level of analytical experience, the ability to work complex data sets, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Senior Transportation Analyst will play a key role in financial oversight, including weekly reporting and the establishment of cost targets for individual sites. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking on challenges, working under pressure, and demonstrating a commitment to driving cost efficiencies across the Materials Group.Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Develop and implement cost control strategies across the Materials Group.

Create and manage weekly financial reports to monitor cost performance.

Establish cost targets for individual sites within the Materials Group.

Analyze complex data to identify cost-saving opportunities and trends.

Proactively address cost variances and implement corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize transportation processes.

Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in transportation operations or financial analysis.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proven track record of achieving cost savings and process improvements.

Experience in supply chain optimization, with a focus on process improvements to reduce costs in freight, inventory, and service.

Experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), JDA, or other TMS platforms.
