Job Description SummaryThe Aerodynamics Engineer will report to the Turbine Aerodynamics Manager and be responsible for designing GE Aviation’s next generation of turbine components and associated technologies.Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.Job DescriptionResponsibilities

Complete aerodynamic design and analysis of high- and low-pressure turbine components

Develop advanced aerodynamic technology to improve engine performance and durability

Analyze component and engine test data to validate aerodynamic designs

Cultivate advanced skills in aerodynamic design, including use of cutting-edge numerical and experimental techniques

Develop analytical tools/software to improve aerodynamic design and predictive capabilities

Formulate and execute plans to achieve technical and program requirements

Develop lean processes to improve organizational productivity and efficiency

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university

Desired Characteristics

Any relevant turbomachinery aerodynamic design experience OR Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering relevant to turbomachinery aerodynamics

Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or aerodynamic testing techniques

Interest in being a self-starter, utilizing innovative problem solving to drive solutions on complex issues

Flexible, friendly, and inclusive; comfortable working in multi-disciplinary global teams

Proven group facilitation and collaboration skills

Exceptional communication skills

Highly motivated and passionate

Keen listener and innately driven to succeed
