Demonstrates strong communication skills, accepts delegated tasks and has the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated. Appropriately handles patient information understanding confidentiality and privacy. Complies with the safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of injury. Is knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission of the hospital. The PCA promotes a patient and family experience oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external. The PCA measures and records vital signs, intake and output, assists patients with activities of daily living, and provides safe transportation and environment for patients. The PCA II is cross trained to support the clinical and clerical sides of the business.Department Specific Job Details:Our Level III NICU is the most comprehensive NICU in the region and is the main referral center for premature and sick newborns. Newborns who reach our center have a 99 percent survival rate and a low incidence of complications. Our NICU is designed to meet the special needs of our medically fragile patients—and help their families develop close bonds with them as they grow stronger under our care. HSD/GED is required
Experience:
PCA training or PCA experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required
1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting is preferred
Certification/Licensure:
CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date
