Assessment and Planning:
1. Evaluate the condition of damaged properties and structures with key stakeholders.
2. Collaborate with restoration specialists and project managers to develop restoration plans.
Carpentry Work:
1. Repair and replace damaged wooden structures, such as walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs.
2. Install new wooden components to match existing structures.
3. Work with a variety of tools including, but not limited to saws, drills, chisels, and sanders.
Framing and Structural Repair:
1. Rebuild damaged or weakened structural elements, including load-bearing beams, trusses, and columns.
2. Ensure proper alignment and support to maintain structural integrity.
Custom Woodwork:
1. Craft custom wooden elements to match historical styles and designs.
2. Create or install cabinets, shelving, and other fixtures as needed.
Finishing Work:
1. Install trim, molding, and baseboards to match the original design.
2. Apply finishes such as staining, varnishing, and painting to achieve a consistent appearance.
Window and Door Restoration:
1. Repair or replace damaged window frames, sashes, and casings.
2. Restore or recreate intricate details of historic windows and doors.
Drywall
1. Ability to hang, tape, and finish drywall in residential or small patchwork situations
2. Blend new drywall to existing undamaged surfaces resulting in smooth finishes
Mechanical
1. Basic knowledge plumbing including toilets, bathrooms, sinks, vanities, and appliances
2. Light electrical knowledge including outlets, fans, light switches, among other things
3. Knowledge of HVAC components including ducting, drying, venting, etc. when repairing or replacing damaged components
Qualifications And Requirements
1. Proven construction/restoration project management experience.
2. Ability to work in a team or alone with little guidance.
3. Ability to handle multiple assignments at once with close attention to detail.
4. Can work autonomously to make decisions and troubleshoot problems.
5. Complete project within approved scope and budget
6. Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable.
