Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Coordinates activities of assigned staff in the Ophthalmology Clinic. Assists the Ophthalmologist in the Eye Clinic by collecting data, administering treatment ordered by an ophthalmologist, and supervising patients. Provides skilled ophthalmic care to patients, ages infant through adult. Upholds the standards of the system wide customer service program.Qualifications:Required:
High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
Satisfactory completion of a six-month basic Ophthalmology course, or equivalent training in a Medical Ophthalmology office, or a completed course in the anatomy and physiology of the eye
Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology
Three years experience in an Ophthalmology practice
BLS Certification from the AHAPreferred:
Skill in Photography including fluorescein angiography and one ophthalmology specialty area such as glaucoma or retina Supervisory experiencePhysical Demands:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
