Position Objective

The IIM Sr. Solutions Developer is a critical part of technical and/or project teams (pods) responsible for ensuring the internal or external clients' needs are met through the design, creation, deployment and updating of applications, portals, etc. The IIM Sr. Solution Developer is accountable for feasibility research, estimates and project timelines, overseeing other Solution Developers and ensuring the IIM development standards, including documentation, are maintained. The IIM Sr. Solution Developer must determine what their customers need by communicating closely with these customers and the Business Analysts and Solution Architects.

Essential Job Functions

• Developing software solutions to meet internal and external clients' needs.• Website and software application designing, building, or maintaining.• Creating and implementing the source code of new applications.• Testing source code and debugging code.• Evaluating existing applications and performing updates and modifications.• Developing technical handbooks to represent the design and code of new applications.• Recommend and develop upgrades for existing applications.• Create models and diagrams to show programmers the code needed for applications.• Monitor quality and performance of applications through testing and maintenance.• Document all work for future reference.• Conferring with teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.• Developing or validating test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types.• Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing, and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction.• Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.• Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements.• Peer review, training and coaching of other IIM Solution Developers.• Performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• Proven knowledge of the most current security and web development programming languages• Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization• Ability to multitask with strict time constraints, budgets and business goals• Strong communication skills - Solid ability in both written and verbal communication.• Ability to create support documentation for all new applications• Strong teamwork skills• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.• Solid ability in both written and verbal communication.• Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.• High degree of independent judgment.• Able to solve complex problems.

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field• 7+ years' experience as a full-stack Developer (Software Developer, Software Engineer, Web Developer or similar role)• 5+ years' experience with HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript• Proven knowledge of the most current security and web development programming languages• Experience with server-side frameworks such as python, ruby, php, Java, ASP, ASP.NET• Experience with database systems such as SQL and Oracle• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. .Net, C#, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)• Ability to learn new languages and technologies• Amazon Web Services experience - desired• Microsoft Azure experience - desired• Google Cloud Platform experience - desired
