Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controller to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. The Controller will be responsible for the oversight, preparation, analysis, and distribution of the company’s financial statements, and manage the periodic and annual accounting close processes including variance analysis to ensure accurate, timely, and relevant financial reporting. This position will report to the CFO and provide direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, A/P Supervisor, and Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor, while providing indirect supervision of their respective teams.If you're interested please Contact Scott Dennis at 513-835-2080Responsibilities:

Oversee general ledger and accounting functions and systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial accounts. Complete and full decision rights when it comes to the closing process and team selection for direct reports.

Manage the periodic and annual closing process and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.

Prepare, analyze, and submit periodic and annual financial reports to management, including variance analysis.

Ensure sound financial controls are established and maintained. Maintain adequate accounting systems access controls and ensure control of confidential information.

Coordinate with ERP group to ensure the accounting system is recording all transactions properly. Troubleshoot as necessary.

Review all systems and reports to ensure proper inventory control, and that movement and counts of inventory are accurately reflected in the financial records.

Assess current accounting operations and offer recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes; make tangible improvements towards automation of repeatable tasks in accounting.

Support analytical needs including project analysis and variance reporting.

Establish financial and operational benchmarks.

Manage the coordination and completion of annual financial review with outside audit firm.

Assist with preparation of the Company’s annual operating and capital budget.

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred but not required.

10+ years of experience in service or construction industry.

Proven supervisory skills with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.

Advanced knowledge of Excel. SQL database a plus.

Solid process improvement skills and a proven change agent.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to learn and use other software tools as required.
