A family-owned forging and machine shop is seeking a reliable and hardworking employee. The tasks involved in this position include grinding steel forgings to remove burrs, shot blasting, and assembling components for shipping. Over time, you may also operate drill presses, CNC lathes or mills, and forge parts using a hammer or press. This role is physically demanding. In addition to submitting a resume online, applicants are required to fill out an application in person.
Position Details:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, with two shifts available: 6 am - 2 pm or 9 am - 5 pm.
- Some Saturday work is required, with hours from 4 am to 12 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare parts for final assembly through grinding, shot blasting, and machining.
- Maintain a clean work area and operate a tow motor.
- Additional openings available in the forging area, requiring the production of quality forgings through drop forging.
- Record lot and heat codes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Submission of a company resume.
- Ability to pass an entry drug test and be subjected to random drug testing.
- Physical capability to handle parts ranging from 25 lbs to 60 lbs.
- Wear hand, eye, and ear protection at all times due to the loud and hot working environment.
Training:
- Wallace Forge will provide training on the majority of the above requirements for safe and proper operation.
