Please note that this position is not open to anyone on a H-1B or F-1 student visa including those eligible for CPT/OPT or the Stem OPT extension.This role follows a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for onsite and in person collaboration the other three days.The Senior Data Modeler will develop data models, solutions and artifacts for the design and implementation of large-scale data designs that will facilitate the build out of data products meeting the needs of consumers across various domains in the organization. Additionally, the Senior Data Modeler will analyze and translate business needs into long-term data models by evaluating existing systems and working with a development team to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models and data flows as well as other related specification artifacts that address the definition, design development, testing and implementation needs.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts data requirements assessment and design sessions with customers, works with analysts to establish clearly defined business requirements. Organize working sessions with technical team to understand sources of data and expected output. Present and communicate modeling results and recommendations to internal stakeholders. Regularly engage and consult stakeholders on solving business problems through data Engage with clients to clarify inbound requests. Communicate physical database designs and explain features that may affect the physical data model. Writes design specifications for solutions as identified by Analyst, Lead and/or management. Work closely with customers to understand their data requirements and model data structures. Troubleshooting and optimizing data models. Hands-on modeling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, and sandbox POC. Create conceptual data model to identify key business entities and visualize their relationships. Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows. Updating and optimizing local and metadata models. Maintain logical and physical data models along with accurate metadata. Perform data profiling/analysis activities that help to establish, modify and maintain data models. Support new and existing development projects with data and process modeling activities. Provide entity, logical and physical data models. Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models. Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions with a technical and strategic approach. Evaluating existing data systems. Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency. Work with data suppliers to establish input and interface specifications. Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models. Support teams through all project phases including knowledge transition phase. Work closely with database teams on topics related to data requirements, cleanliness, and quality. Work with various on-prem and cloud-based data platforms, technologies, and services. Complete other related duties as assigned.NATURE AND SCOPE:To be updated based on the postingMANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Not ApplicableMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:· Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 12 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years related experience· Experience with data modeling tools and database management systems.· Experience implementing data architecture, data integration concepts, and metadata management.· Understanding of conceptual, physical, and logical data modelsIDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: 10+ years Data Modeling experience Experience in FinTech Experience with Agile methodology and working on an Agile team. Experience in ERWin Data Modeler and Snowflake. Experience implementing data governance practices Experience designing large scale data products. Modeling solutions using relational, dimensional, and NoSQL. Experience in real time and analytical systems. Experience with Data Capability Assessment Model (DCAM). The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Cloud Modeler Architecture on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) CertificationM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $107,656.56 - $179,427.60 Annual (USD).
