In return, we'll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about.Job Summary The Manager Inventory Accounting provides financial accounting leadership and strategic business partnering for global inventories. Responsible for global accounting for inventory process, controls, inclusive businesses under direct supervision, and partnering with teams outside of direct supervision. Manage complex activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and the development of financial information and reports in accordance with accounting policies and procedures related to inventory.Job Responsibilities⦁ Provide leadership in the continuing development and management of the Inventory Center of Excellence, reporting into the Global Inventory Controller⦁ Manage and oversee inventory governance, internal controls and compliance with policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures. Harmonize inventory accounting policies where applicable⦁ Manage and oversee monthly/quarterly accounting and reporting close activities, generally including: inventory valuation, reserves, and adjustments; reporting and inventory KPI updates; account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, inventory accruals and adjusting journal entries; validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close and reviews inter-company profit eliminations⦁ Implement and/or oversee the process to coordinate, organize and perform both cycle counts and complete physical inventory review with business unit management. Review inventory count variances, research and resolves issues⦁ Perform quantitative trend analyses, and period over period fluctuations analyses. Identify/explain variances to ensure proper reporting and identify opportunities for inventory accounting efficiencies and working capital improvements⦁ Partner with FP&A to forecast inventory balances and other inventory related financial statement metrics⦁ Create various monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reports for management review as needed (e.g., establish standardized reporting fully embedded within organization including service level agreements, KPI's and dashboards). Regular meetings with key finance, operations, and procurement stakeholders to discuss issues and focus on inventory drivers⦁ Support mergers and acquisition inventory activities (e.g., due diligence, valuation, integration) from the preliminary deal stages through integration with ERP system⦁ Engage with internal and external auditors to coordinate compliance with internal controls and substantive audit procedures⦁ Responsible for people leadership and personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews⦁ Develop short- and long-range operating and strategic objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.⦁ Partner with cross functional teams (e.g., legal, procurement, operations) when new or unusual transactions arise to ensure accounting for inventory is appropriate and impacts to business is known and understood⦁ Develop and recommend departmental budget and authorize expenditures⦁ Develop and oversee the implementation of departmental training programs, including orientation⦁ Support the policy of equal employment opportunity through affirmative action in personnel actions⦁ Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices and procedures [SOPs, safety procedures and biosafety protocols]⦁ Perform all other related duties as assigned.Job Qualifications ⦁ Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in business, management or related discipline. CPA or Master's degree preferred.⦁ Experience: Ten or more years' experience in accounting and finance. Six to eight years of experience in Finance Management, specifically with inventory and material costing responsibilities⦁ Experience in complex inter-company inventory transitions and supervisor experience required. SAP experience preferred.

Proven people leadership experience in managing a small team for at least 3 years

Strong experience with revenue and cost recognition in accordance with US GAAP.

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage workload and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.

Self-starter, ability to work independently.

Compensation:The pay range for this position is $120K - $145K USD annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.Competencies
