Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accounting Specialist to help manage our financial processes relating to construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the overall financial health of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage job cost reports, analyzing variances and providing insights for project managers.
Process and track accounts payable within the construction context.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements specific to construction projects.
Collaborate with project managers to track project financial performance and provide actionable recommendations.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Participate in audits and respond to inquiries from external auditors.
Maintain and update financial records and databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and/or Proven experience in accounting within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of job cost accounting and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
