We are seeking an Accompanist for both organ and piano at our church of about 250 members (weekly worship attendance around 100-110).
Responsibilities:
Accompany vocalists, instrumentalists, and congregation for Sunday morning worship (10:30 am) and weekly choir practice (Wednesday evenings)
Collaborate with Director of Music to select music in support of the preaching text and themes appropriate to the liturgical day/season
Play for seasonal/special services, funerals and weddings as invited; some of these opportunities are compensated separately
Most weeks the accompanist is responsible for selecting and preparing the Prelude, Postlude, and Offertory. Typically accompanies one choir anthem per week and three contregational hymns
Qualifications:
Passion for serving as a co-leader of Christian worship for the Lord’s day
Proficiency in piano and organ, with a strong understanding of sacred music, the liturgical calendar, and reformed worship and theology
Prior experience as a choir/congregational accompanist.
