This role is to manage and lead a group of talented engineers matrixed across 4 cross-functional agile squads who are responsible for building our APIs, microservices and orchestration applications. We implement cutting edge IAM technologies to build safe, modern, and secure methods to authenticate and authorize our customers across products and channels.Reporting to the Director Lead of SecureLogin this role is for a leader with a passion for developing engineering talent and building world class systems. In this role you will work closely with Information Security teammates, Digital Product Partners, Business Customers, and our peer Application teams in a highly collaborative environment.To read more about what our tech team does, be sure to visit our tech blog at ally.tech.The Work Itself

HR management of a group of talented engineers

Coach secure and mature development practices in an Agile framework

Drive continuous improvement in development best practices, code quality, and DevSecOps pipelines

Work with other security experts evaluating and addressing risks to protect our customers

Partner with product owners, business contacts, and other application teams to solicit and define requirements

Guide and mentor engineers

Clearly present solutions and roadmaps to other teams and leadership

The Skills You Bring

7+ years of relevant experience

Prior experience successfully leading highly technical resources

Demonstrable excellence in leading teams to solve difficult challenges and implement high quality solutions is a must

Background in leading or engineering one or more of:

API or Web Services design and development

IAM engineering (Customer IAM is even better)

Relevant Information Security roles

Excellent troubleshooting skills

Attention to detail and strong communications skills

Awareness of the current threat landscape

Nice to haves:

Specific knowledge of IAM platforms such as Radiant Logic, Okta, Auth0, Ping, Broadcom/CA Directory/SiteMinder/IDM/Access Gateway

Working knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2.0 and other modern IAM protocols

Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, Go, Python, C, and/or C# experience

Hands on Cloud experience, particularly AWS

Hands on experience with Terraform, Gitlab, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence

Modern mature API design

CISSP, CISM or CISA

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other relevant field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
