This person willoversee theaccounts receivable processforNCEL retailers, including all retail collection activities and supporting the Retail Accounting Manager and team. We have also been named a Best-in-Class Employer by Gallagher.Responsibilities:Mentors and develops the collections staff by monitoring work performance, recommending improvements/efficiencies and cross training. Oversees, as well as provides, all collection duties such as payment plans, promissory notes, executing affidavits, making phone calls, sending emails, creating collection letters, retailer invoice adjustments due to failed sweeps, outside/legal collections, write-offs and applying Self-Assurance funds as well as communicating with Sales staff, other state agencies and other appropriate NCEL departments. Approves On-Demand retailer drafts from the collections staffReconciles the Retailer Receivable accounts. May be tasked to reconcile other accounts as needed. Coordinates with the Retail Accountant and Gaming Financial Analysts to ensure that all promotions and A/R impacting journals are made in the system. Completes monthly and year end account reconciliation as well as audit tasks. Ensures all reconciling manual entries are made in D365Provides customer service to internal and external customers by responding to retailer inquiries by telephone, certified letter, and emailCash management through processes deposits, On-Demands, failed sweeps, and accesses fees as required to be recorded in Microsoft Dynamics D365. Generates the weekly collection reportReconciles weekly sweep totals and general ledger account entries related to Accounts ReceivablesSubmits retailers to the NC Department of Revenue for collections by debt set off. Places bad debt accounts with outside collection agencies. Creates various ad-hoc, executive and State reportingRequirements:Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years’ related experienceBacks up Retail Accounting Manager on certain functions as neededIn charge of Retail Accounting retention, shred and digital file purgeManager may assign additional tasks within the scope of this classification as necessaryParticipates in the 1099 tax project on an annual basis to help ensure they are prepared and sent out in a timely fashionAbility to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speechWork requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organizationActs as the point of contact for Weekly NSF's and ensuring information is record in accounting system on a timely and accurate basisServes as a backup signer for the High Credit CommitteeKnowledge of Accounts Receivable Collections Techniques/Laws, account reconciliation and understanding of general Accounting practicesKnowledge of Accounting Software Systems – Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)Skill in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and WordHiring Rate: $51,078 (this non-exempt position will be filled at or near the posted salary)Closing Date: August 27, 2025This position is eligible for partial telework.
