Looking for a change in the typical construction industry? The Metro Richmond Zoo offers a wide variety of experiences. Working both indoors and outdoors, individuals have opportunities to help in any of the following responsibilities:
1. New building and animal enclosure construction
2. 30+ Buildings to maintain and renovate as needed
3. 30+ Additional structures to maintain
4. 100+ Animal enclosures to maintain.
5. 150+ acres to maintain
We have a Full time opening for a Skilled Tradesman.
Must be able to work 5 shift(s) per week and be available weekdays/weekends.
3 year(s) experience required
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have reliable transportation.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be authorized to work in the United States.
To be consider for this position applicants must be proficient in at least 5 of the 9 trades listed below.
Framing
Plumbing
Electrical
Masonry
Welding
Specialty trades
Variety of fence types
Commercial Painting
Mechanical Skills
Must be comfortable and capable of handling and climbing tall ladders, utilizing heavy machinery, and personal power tools safety. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. without restriction.
Candidates must have a love of animals and their well-being.
When it comes to our skilled tradesman, there is no mundane task. This position directly correlates with helping to create memorable positive experience for visitors at the Metro Richmond Zoo.
This is a Full-Time Position -
40 hours a week
