Hiring ASAP:
Usual starting salary is $20 per hour, and probably getting discounted rent in one of my houses.
Apprentice starts at $16 per hour, with good energy, good attitude and basic skills.
Up to $25 per Hour if a licensed builder or with Heavy Equipment Repair Experience.
You will always be paid promptly with no deductions.
$25 without deductions is the equivalent of getting $35 to $40 elsewhere with all the deductions.
You will be working as a sub-contractor.
We a basically a non-profit. The property is owned by “The Outer Banks Conservation Commission LLC” a private non-profit. (not a 501-c3). The Boat building is a 501c3 Charitable non-profit.
Discount Housing is a common fringe benefit. Medical is not included. You need some kind of plan for yourself.
You can work full time or part time. Much or our work is weather dependent, but it is a surprisingly temperate climate year round, due to being close proximity to the Gulf Stream. A similar climate to Jacksonville FL (see temperature chart in photos).
Is it Right for You

You can make more money, doing things you hate in a rat race city. That is why it pays so well.
If you prefer having fun, building stuff, with eccentric, eclectic, creative friends, making friends, and creating vacations for others, this might be for you.
Other people work all year for a week your daily lifestyle.
Do you value living in one of the worlds great playgrounds.
You can live comfortably and have fun. It pays better than being an artist, and you can make a retirement nest egg using my business plan.
Most people that work for me are at the beginning of their careers and haven’t accumulated a lot of debt or obligations

Are near retirement and have a pension they want to supplement along with a good reason to get out of bed.
Job Skills
You must have good mechanical aptitude, good health, Enough strength to do moderate construction work, and a few neurons left to rub together.
You need good communication skills, fluent English, and a friendly, positive attitude that is willing to learn, experiment and play on the team.
Building, boats, fixing houses and heavy equipment, in a beautiful, low stress place, should be fun.
A happy works space requires a good sense.
You will need a drivers license and a reliable vehicle, just to live on a remote island. Owning a pickup truck is a plus.
Job Description
This is as much a lifestyle choice as it is employment.
I need a talented, mechanically skilled person to assist with maintaining and building the boats at my Startup Yacht Club (IE: The Outer Banks Yacht and Beach Club LLC.). For maintaining 24 acre campground, for heavy equipment maintenance and for repairs and maintenance on numerous waterfront properties.
Good mechanical aptitude, good attitude, flexible, creative and fun to be around are all required. You should expect no less of us.

Housing

There is space at the yacht club campground for an RV but only for employees.

I would like to run the Harbor House as a bed and breakfast. The manager would have a discount residence and get a piece of the BNB revenue, that at times might entirely offset the rent. The details need to be thought through.
Assets being Maintained
The Club owns is 24 acres of waterfront, AND the closest boat ramp to Ofialia Inlet. This is access to the most unpopulated world class Atlantic beaches of the outer Banks. There is tournament grade Atlantic fishing with 3 miles, and exceptional “gentlemen’s fishing” and boating in the protected waters of cores sound.
I need help maintaining the Yacht club property, houses, boats, and boat building, and heavy equipment.
About You
This is not a job for someone with a lot of financial obligations.
You would be working as a sub-contractor. There will be no deductions from your pay.
Much of the work is weather dependent.
We work hard and play hard. Life should be enjoyed.
Duties are very varied and creative problem solving is valued.
You must be physically fit and in good health.
WARNING: No drug addicts, drunks or thieves. Do us both a favor, and stay away. Thieves will be arrested and put away. Drug addicts: go away: Drunks: drink somewhere else. And we can all be happy. We let the Deputy sheriffs families use the marina and swimming poof for free.

FYI: Philosophy and Philanthropy
My current largest project is my charitable “non-Profit” “the Outer Banks Conservation Commission LLC, sponsors of the Outer Banks Yacht and Beach Club (not 501c3’s) and the American Academy of Boat Building and Seamanship (an IRS 501c3) charitable non-profit.
I have been an licensed builder and developer in the peoples republic of Massachusetts for the last 50 years. I used to do stand up comedy, when politically incorrect was funny and not dangerous. I even opened for Jay Leno when dinosaurs roamed Cambridge, before the zombie apocalypse.
Alas at 72 with two fake feet, a fake knee, two broken shoulders and a brain that insists I am still 20 while my protesting body resists a scheduled recall by my maker, who needs to be lectured on quality control and planned obsolescence. Alas again, I need the help of an able bodied and talented, honest souls, with fewer miles on the odometer. That might be you.
NOTE: I have enjoyed several great lifetimes of hyperactive adventures wrecking this body: I don’t regret it. I am not done yet. But I am conserving my residual neurons, muscle mass and joint articulation, for fun and worthy adventurous obliteration of the entirety, before returning my sorry borrowed star dust to the Omni-verse for recycling. I am proudly 97% biodegradable.
FYI: The “Yacht Club”
My legacy project is building a non-profit Yacht Club for the newly minted “dignified poor” (formerly known as the American middle class). An RV camp and tent camping facility will provide housing for access to the last abandon part of the North Carolina Outer Banks Beaches and fishing sanctuaries. We are just two miles from the open Atlantic, and tournament grade fishing.
Catching dinner with a rod a reel, cooking it on an open fire or Bar-B-Q watching the sunset over the ocean and islands, with a rum or beer, is just as beautiful for the “poor” and appreciated much more as real life wealth.
The Corporate cannibal racketeers, and the obscenely wealthy who devour the waterfront and prevent the public from enjoying this amazing public treasure, namely the Outer Banks Beaches, Cape Cod and the entire Atlantic coast, are unworthy trustees of this experience, and don’t fully appreciate the majesty of nature. I admire honest completive capitalism. The problem is: real capitalism has been banned. The best revenge is to have more fun.
