Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in High Point, North Carolina, in the construction/contractor industry. This role involves preparing and overseeing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting with audit preparation. As a Sr. Accountant, you will also be responsible for verifying transactions for accuracy and completion, resolving account discrepancies, and assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation of all journal entries and ensure their accuracy Reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain financial accuracy Assist with the preparation of financial statements and conduct financial analysis Verify transactions for accuracy and completion to maintain financial integrity Assist with audit preparation to ensure compliance with financial standards Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation and making necessary adjustments Analyze financial statements to inform business decisions Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close to ensure timely financial reporting Mentor junior staff to foster skill development and knowledge sharing Recommend ways to reduce costs and improve efficiencies to optimize business performance.Requirements Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, ideally within the construction/contractor industry. Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations. Demonstrated experience in General Ledger management and Journal Entries. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with Month End Close procedures. Familiarity with software systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
