Experienced Carpenters needed for homes/apartments on Fort Liberty and across the Fayetteville, NC area - 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
· Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
· Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
· Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
· Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style.
· Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals.
· Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
· Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
· Cut, shape, smooth, fabricate, and/or install lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements.
· Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
· Lay out floorings, roofings, or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
· Assemble cabinets, shelves, and other items, and install them where designated.
· Inspect areas to conduct repairs or maintenance.
· Build scaffolding and other construction structures when necessary.
Requirements and Skills:
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
A minimum, two (2) years’ experience as a carpenter.
Proven carpentry and general construction experience.
Sound knowledge of business ordinances.
The ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
The ability to use powered hand tools.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to get a pass and access Fort Liberty.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
