A Touchup associate is responsible for repairing all defects that are in the gel coat finish of Fiberglass parts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Sands scratches out of the gel coat using various methods.
2. Uses an air router to remove defects from the gel coat that are deeper than minor scratches.
3. Patches deeper defects using putty and hardener. Patches some minor scratches using gel coat and catalyst.
4. Uses many different grits of sandpaper in different ways including dry sanding and wet sanding.
5. Removes larger amounts of cured repairing material using an air-powered sander.
6. Uses an air-powered spray gun to spray thin film of gel coat over repaired defects.
7. Wet sands repaired defect areas to match the rest of the boat.
8. Cleans all fiberglass parts after repairs.
