- Work closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and prospects to collect, understand, and communicate product requirements
- Work closely with software development teams within the company and external engineering partners to communicate the priority of and technical requirements for user stories during weekly grooming sessions
- Collaborate with the senior product manager to create product plans and internal/external roadmaps with the goal of taking on this function completely
- Act as the customer advocate and answer business questions about user stories for engineers in daily standups and whenever urgent or development-blocking questions arise
- Become the domain expert in how commercial service contractors manage their parts purchasing, inventory, and job costing
- Identify and communicate the impacts of product updates on accounting system integrations and maintain continuous functionality with integrated products
- Implement product features consistent with the company mission of helping commercial service contractors increase the value of their brand by becoming more important to their customers
- Manage several change management projects concurrently, helping users and internal stakeholders (support, sales, product management peers) adapt to changes in feature sets and workflow processes
- Experience in SaaS product management, with a proven track record of successful product outcomes (based on sales, adoption, growth, etc . ), is preferred
- Equally comfortable interviewing a customer or working with a software engineer on technical requirements
- Able to work cross-functionally within an organization as well as with external partners to accomplish product goals
- Effective and adaptive communicator with a wide variety of audiences: junior and senior, technical and non technical , domain novices and experts, within the company and our development partners, and with customers
- Versed in agile (lowercase "a") software development, keeping a strong strategic compass while quickly and enthusiastically adapting to changing tactical conditions
- Technical enough to write acceptance criteria for middleware development or guide accounting system integration partners through journal entry detail on an API
- Able to define and adhere to a roadmap, prioritize high value features and gracefully say "no" to low value requests
- Domain experience in accounting and/or parts management preferred, but fastidious care and attention to detail is required. The math needs to line up, you need to know why it does, and for sure know why it doesn't
