Seeking an experienced Engineering Manager II ("Development Manager") to join a high performing team focused on developing hardware solutions for the Retail industry. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of developers and technical project managers throughout all phases of the development life cycle from concept to product release. This position will fully own the team's work and delivery of their product goals to our customers. The Development Manager will also be an influencer across other teams within the organization. This role will require working with the product line group and architecture team to align our product roadmaps with our execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Manager to apply his/her knowledge to deliver innovative products to the retail marketplace. Responsibilities:- Delivery of full-scale Self Checkout product development solutions
- Manage all personnel aspects of the team including hiring, managing individual performance, compensation, job assignments, dealing with conflicts, career building, and coaching.
- Interact with stakeholders such as technical project managers and product managers as appropriate to address areas such as product functionality, performance, delivery plans, and field support escalations.
- Identify and resolve problems, gaps, and challenges in the hardware engineering processes.
- Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of leadership experience in an engineering or new product development environment
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability in leading projects - managing requirements, schedule, cost, and quality deliverables.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic high-tech environment with team members dispersed across multiple countries and time zones
- An effective problem solver, with ability to utilize analytical techniques to resolve complex issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to organize and present clear and concise information up and down the organizational chain
- Experience and ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
- Excellent risk and change management skills
- Experienced with different project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems.
- Adept with Microsoft Office tools
- PMI or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of retail systems products
- Aptitude for recommending and implementing changes to practices/procedures that affect the immediate organization.
