The purpose of the GIS Analyst II position is to be responsible for providing enterprise GIS support to the TS GIS Manager for the Technology Solutions (TS) department. Duties include providing technical support by creating, editing, and maintaining GIS data, developing standard and custom GIS Web maps, applications, and services. This position ensures data accuracy, compatibility, consistency, and standardization free from spatial, data, topological and other conflicts and errors. Additionally, this may include providing assistance with computer-related programs, developing maps and apps, and completing special projects.Duties/Responsibilities
Maintains GIS data accuracy, compatibility, consistency, and standardization free from spatial, data, topological and other conflicts and errors.
Works on GIS projects by assisting with defining project needs; specifying datasets; selecting or creating databases; conducting data analyses; and creating mapping needs, presentations, and other documents.
Coordinates and facilitates special projects by attending meetings; preparing and presenting demos; interacting with vendors; providing staff training; and writes GIS technical reports when required.
Interacts with departments and GIS users supporting and enabling GIS best practices and QA/QC workflows; preparing and presenting demos; interacting with vendors; providing staff training; and writing reports.
Provides software support by writing documentation; conducting training; upgrading software; providing technical support; and assisting with defining streamlined workflow
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in information technology, GIS, geography, data analytics, or directly related field
Two years of professional information technology experience in a GIS related field
Proficient skills in Esri
Additional Preferred Skills
GISP - certified geographic information systems (GIS) professional preferred
Proficient in a variety of Esri mapping solutions and applications.
Experience with enterprise management systems and mapping integration
Experience enterprise data management
Must have a valid, unrestricted, North Carolina Class C driver's license "or" if you currently have another state driver's license, be willing and able to obtain a valid NC driver's license within 60 days of start date.
