WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Estimator is responsible for the preparation of competitive, accurate and profitable estimates for the fabrication of metal products. Also, for handling inside sales inquiries (walk-ins, phones, online), helping customers with their sheet metal needs. Close interaction with management and production floor coworkers will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and interpret CAD files, prints, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine material, labor, and time requirements.

Prepare material take-offs based on customer files, samples or sketches.

Assign machine time and labor man-hours for processing of work.

Track changes to designs and adjust estimates accordingly.

Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Manage extras, change orders, and update estimates / orders when required.

Qualifications:

2 years of experience in estimating, preferably within a metal fabrication or related manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Strong understanding of various metal types, fabrication processes (cutting, welding, bending, finishing), and shop practices.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
