Experienced Full-Time Veterinary Assistant/RVT needed for a small animal veterinary hospital in Rock Hill, SC.
We are looking for someone with a passion for animals. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, as well as a keen attention to detail and willingness to learn. She/he will be able to work well as part of a cohesive team.
She/he will also possess the following qualifications:
Working knowledge of restraint, medications, diseases, client education, medical, surgical and dental procedures
Show proficiency in all radiological and clinical laboratory diagnostics
Have the ability to calculate drugs, anesthetize, intubate, monitor and recover a patient undergoing a surgical procedure
Demonstrate above average proficiency in the placement of IV catheters, venipuncture, and administering injections
Knowledge of normal patient (cat/dog) parameters and basic medical terminology
Ability to work both independently with little supervision as well as part of a team
Strong work ethic, punctual and good organizational and multi-tasking skills
Able to lift 50 lbs alone
Will have to work some Saturdays
Should be willing to be cross-trained fully in reception duties such as scheduling, answering phones, and client communication
Will also assist in opening and closing hospital, cleaning duties and maintaining hospital equipment and overall cleanliness
