We are a well-established Charlotte-based restaurant group seeking an Executive Chef for our busy and exciting small-plates concept. The right candidate will be mature, creative, and responsible. Requirements and skills

-A minimum of five (5) years experience in the food services/culinary industry is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years kitchen management/supervisory experience in an upscale high-volume restaurant is required

-Extensive knowledge of food, cooking techniques, and proper food handling procedures

-Exercises interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates for sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example

-Capacity to identify and resolve problems efficiently

-Work well under pressure and adapt under ever-changing circumstances

-Capable of delegating multiple tasks

-Compliance with all current Health, Safety and Sanitation standards

-Understanding of when to discipline and when to encourage employees

-Knowledge of Profit & Loss reports

-Some working knowledge of various computer software programs (Google Drive, restaurant management software, POS)

Duties

-Work with the General Manager to maintain day-to-day operations, ensuring our quality expectations and standards are met on a daily basis.

-Ordering and receiving of goods

-Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities

-Modify menus with creative enthusiasm and in a timely manner, utilizing local and seasonal ingredients whenever possible and appropriate

-Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs

-Supervise kitchen staff’s activities

-Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs

-Perform administrative functions related to BOH

-Assist with time and payroll records

-Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers at all times

Physical Requirements

-Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

-Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
