Position Number: 010529Department: Facilities Management (Adm)Employment Type: Permanent - Full-timeMonths Per Year: 12Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Maintenance Operations Housing Shop Supervisor.Duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
You are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.
Assist in diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Use standard hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Minimum Experience / Education: Required Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.University Preferred Qualifications:Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution preferred in HVAC or Engineering Technology.
Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension) required.
Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
Computer literate.
Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
