Timmons Group is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer II to join our Renewable Energy Department of our Electrical Design Group located in our Charlotte, NC office location.  This group focuses on power generation and renewable energy projects throughout the country including solar farms and battery storage projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Support Project Managers or other staff on design of power generation projects and design of renewable energy projectsSupport Project Managers or other staff on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgradesWorks under the supervision of Project Managers or other staff for assigned projects to produce electrical engineering designsProvides input to senior engineering staff on design issues based on the results of calculations or engineering solutionsMust possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activitiesParticipates in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed workParticipates in budget developmentSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited programIdeal candidates will have six (6) years or more of professional electrical experienceFive (5) years or more years of relay coordination and schematic design experienceFive (5) years or more of detailed design engineering experience and/or owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is preferredEngineer in Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration strongly preferredPrevious experience leading a group of engineers is a plusETAP or SKM software experienceProficiency with AutoCADProficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and accountable for assigned responsibilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
