Overview

Lincoln Financial Group’s Corporate Internship Program is an exciting opportunity where careers are launched, and talent is discovered.

During this 9-week summer program, you will have the opportunity to :

Add value to the organization through meaningful work

Participate in a variety of developmental experiences

Gain exposure to senior executives and build a valuable network of peers, managers, and leaders across the company

Acquire knowledge of key businesses through enterprise-wide exposure

Work directly with a mentor to receive ongoing coaching and feedback

The Role

Claims is the cornerstone of our value proposition in the Group Benefits market. As a Claims Operations intern, you will be embedded in the Short Term Disability and Leave organization;

you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Group Protection’s claims case management philosophy, how Claims management impacts the business’s overall financial results, and how we partner with other teams in Claims, as well as cross-functionally to support strategic goals and measures of success.

Duties and Responsibilities

Delivers routine Claims work independently, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meets deadlines appropriately.

Supports and promotes change management and / or departmental / enterprise initiatives within Claims.

Meets or exceeds departmental quality and service standards.

Follows processes for consistent case management, including creation and maintenance of action plans that outline timing of follow-up activities and key decisions to effectively administer policy provisions.

Contributes to key strategic initiatives as defined by Leadership

What we look for in candidates :

Rising college junior or senior

A minimum GPA of 3.0

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to deal with change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

Must reside in one of our Claims Office locations or be willing to relocate for summer program

Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
