Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist based in Charlotte, North Carolina, to join our team in the financial services industry. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be tasked with handling customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. Additionally, you will monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action where necessary. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Efficiently and accurately process customer credit applications. Maintain and update customer credit records consistently. Use accounting software systems to manage and analyze data. Utilize the Workday system for accounts payable tasks. Handle accounts payable functions, including account coding and accrual accounting. Regularly audit accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. Handle customer inquiries, providing timely and appropriate responses. Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status. Utilize ADP - Financial Services, Concur, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning tools as necessary. Manage Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions. Requirements Proficiency in Account Coding and Accrual Accounting Solid understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP) Experience with Accounting Software Systems such as ADP - Financial Services and Concur Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) and Auditing Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and in a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Relevant certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is considered a plus.
