Small public accounting firm in the S Charlotte area that specializes in accounting, taxation, and advisory services for businesses and individuals are looking to add to our team. We are a tight knit, laid back firm, who treats our employees and clients like family. We are currently seeking a senior level public accounting professional who is a CPA or EA (inactive is ok) with experience in public accounting and a strong understanding of tax accounting. Part time position available with seasonal full time tax season
Work is onsite
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Preparation of financial statements / compilations / bookkeeping for various size clients
Preparation of corporate and individual federal and multi-state tax returns
Preparation of detailed planning and tax projections for clients
Maintain knowledge of current tax practices and stay up to date on changes in tax law
Provide industry knowledge and expertise to a variety of clients and staff
Ability to research and resolve tax notices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Must have Public Accounting Experience
3+ years as staff/senior accountant at an accountant or CPA firm providing public accounting services or other comparable industry experience is mandatory.
Understanding of tax, federal and state income tax concepts with the ability to research tax issues and communicate findings clearly and concisely
Strong skills with general office use software and an ability to adapt to new software applications required
Ability to multitask, take initiative, meet tight deadlines, and work independently.
Strong attention to detail and organizational and writing skills.
CPA or EA required (inactive is ok)
Proficiency with MS Office, Quickbooks, Quickbooks Online, UltraTax is preferred
Software:
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online software programs
Experience with UltraTax software preferred or similar software experience required
Proficiency with MS Office Suite required
