The Team You Will Join:The leader in this AVP position will champion the delivery of enterprise Agility and mature our shift from project to product operating model across business and technology teams at MetLife. In addition to supporting this evolution, the leader will act as an enterprise thought leader shaping innovative strategies and best practices of our agile delivery model. This leader is also responsible to partner with senior and executive leadership inside and outside Global Technology to drive execution excellence.The Opportunity:The leader for AVP Agile Enablement will focus on the following:

Build and grow the MetLife Global Enterprise Lean-Agile Center of Excellence, which will serve as a hub for Lean-Agile practices and execution for all MetLife.

Lead Lean-Agile Centers of Excellence (CoE) in each MetLife region to expand the benefits of Agility to global and regional initiatives. These CoEs will plan together, ensure reciprocal learning and drive adoption of execution excellence practices globally, growing a highly collaborative corps of transformation agents to drive Agile maturity globally.

Working with PMOs, simplify and standardize Waterfall, Lean and Agile execution, leveraging existing industry best of breed practices (not authoring MetLife custom methodologies).

Partner with Audit, IT Risk, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure MetLife execution practices support all compliance and financial requirements.

Identify and grow talent both within and beyond Global Technology. The first focus will be roles in execution leadership such as STEs, RTEs, and Scrum Masters and transitioning project and program roles. In addition, this role will promote adoption of practices to acquire, grow and retain execution talent cross-functionally.

Be a recognized thought leader within and outside MetLife in core Agile competencies.

Support technical best practices, such as test first and DevSecOps, across all execution methods.

Managing a training and coaching budget. Enhancing our learning service by optimizing our enterprise subscription service Scaled Agile Inc.

Thinking unconventionally around coaching solutions to mature and sustain agility.

Coach at all levels or the organization, defining fit for purpose lean-agile ways of working.

Drive adoption of Lean Portfolio Management practices such as economic prioritization and organizing around value, coaching MetLife’s most senior leaders in portfolio practices that connect strategy to execution.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities):

Support Delivery teams in transforming their operating model so that they can delivery on an annual portfolio of over $2 billion, teach and grow a talent base of solution train engineers, release train engineers, scrum masters, product managers, product owners, product managers, program managers, project managers and solution architects fluent in MetLife’s three delivery modes - Waterfall, Agile and Lean.

Coach, train, and mentor the enablers outside the Agile programs who support and work with the teams with an eye towards increasing agility and customer value flow.

Grow the in-house coaching capability necessary for MetLife to scale Agile on a sustainable and economically feasible trajectory that permanently embeds Agile into the DNA of MetLife. This will include securing leading talent, as well as mentoring and managing the work of the Lean-Agile Center of Excellence team.

Work with executive sponsors and business leaders to define and transform value streams, implement top level agility practices - such as quarterly business steering and the initiative deployment processes - for their operational value streams. Foster cross team, cross train, cross business unit and cross global site alignment.

Coach enterprise scaled Agile initiatives including new lines of business, transformations and mature Agile programs, providing thought-leading guidance pushing the bounds and understandings of Agile, both business and technical.

Deliver Agile trainings and workshops to executives and senior leaders. Provide 1:1 executive coaching. Mentor and lead other coaches to deliver training at all levels of the organization.

As a change leader, contribute to the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of sustainable Agile coaching practices that increase agility across all functions, and enable the emergence of high-performing teams and organization.

Build and grow partnerships with top Agile coaching firms to provide on-demand expansion of coaching and execution capabilities in the US and in the regions.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications):

SPCT, iSPCT or SPC-T Candidate or demonstrated extensive experience: 10-15 years in Agile and Lean practices leading enterprise-level Agile transformations.

Deep knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework with active and current credentials in any holding certifications.

Executive Leadership, advisory and coaching skills: coaching and mentoring senior leadership teams, fostering an Agile mindset and guiding organizations through cultural and operational change

Strategic Vision and Execution: 5-7 years aligning agile practices with business strategy, delivering measurable outcomes

Hands-on experience implementing DevOps practices and tools.

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

Expertise in flow metrics (up to portfolio levels) and value stream management with measurable outcomes.

Experience in change management with holding certifications such as Prosci or Certified Change Management Professional.

Thought leadership and industry impact: recognized thought leader with experience contributing to the Agile community through public speaking, publishing or volunteer work.
