JOB DUTIES: The Activation Engineer is responsible for the logical configuration of customer network equipment (both Customer Premise and Network) via thorough routing concepts. Skill sets typically include Cisco, Juniper platforms. The Engineer ensures configurations meet customer expectations as well as industry and product standards, supports customer activations and is responsible for configuration adjustments as needed for management acceptance testing. In addition, the Activation Engineer is responsible for accurate back office system data record management

RESPONSIBILITIES: -Implement, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services. -Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues. -Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards. -Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies. -Experience with protocols. -Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers.

MUST HAVE SKILLS: IP Addressing Transport - T-1, T-3 Protocols - TCP/IP, Private IP, Ethernet, GRE / IPSEC, Frame-Relay, Multilink Frame-Relay Routing Protocols - BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP and Static Routing Configuration of: DNS, Load Sharing, Policy Based Routing, Access Control Lists, VLAN, WLAN,

EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS: CCNA Certification Education: Degree in a computer related field or experience in a related field. 1-5 years of experience Implementation Engineering Candidates must demonstrate a command of common LAN / WAN architecture and troubleshooting techniques. They should also possess an understanding and appreciation of common network security standards and their role in successful network implementations. Candidates should be comfortable in customer facing situations. They should have strong interpersonal and organizational skill sets; be comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment; feel comfortable leading and troubleshooting during an activation call, and understand that flexibility and accountability feed directly into customer satisfaction.

REQUIRED SHIFT: Work will be performed mostly during regular business hours 8am to 5pm, Monday - Friday. Shift work may be required as needed basis based on customer needs/demands.

Submission for governmental background checks (i.e. Public Trust) will be required
