Job Summary:
The Freight Dispatcher is responsible for managing relationships with freight brokers, negotiating rates, and coordinating freight movements.
Responsibilities:
Broker Relations: Establish and nurture strong relationships with brokers to secure freight.
Negotiate Rates: Negotiate competitive freight rates.
Freight Booking: Book freight with brokers and ensure timely and accurate dispatch of shipments.
Load Coordination: Coordinate the movement of freight from pick-up to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and client requirements.
Track Shipments: Monitor the status of shipments, providing updates to brokers and clients, and addressing any issues that arise during transit.
Documentation: Manage and maintain accurate records of load confirmations, and other pertinent documentation.
Issue Management: Address and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, damaged goods, or other logistical challenges promptly and effectively.
Dispute Resolution: Handle any disputes or concerns raised by brokers, working towards amicable solutions.
Market Trends: Monitor market conditions and industry trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved service.
Rate Analysis: Analyze freight rates and negotiate better terms based on market dynamics and operational needs.
Collaboration & Communication:
Team Collaboration: Work closely with sales team, account managers, and logistics coordinators to ensure seamless communication and efficient freight movement.
Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients regarding shipment status, potential issues, and resolutions.
