Homebuilder Site Supervisor/Superintendent

Experienced homebuilder expanding into Western North Carolina, seeking a site supervisor/superintendent to manage construction of 3-5 houses per year in Highlands, NC area. Salary: $45,000+ depending on experience, plus completion bonuses.

Successful candidate will possess the following:

- Ability to work independently toward project completion.

- Experience building houses and knowledge of the process.

- Experience working with local trades, utilities, engineers, inspectors and municipalities.

- A sense of humor. Able to work well with others while overcoming daily challenges and having fun while doing it.

- An eye for detail and a genuine interest in building science.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (architectural and engineering) and specifications.

Job duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

- Management of a team of subcontractor trades, scheduling, ensuring work is completed, inspecting quality of work and managing changes.

- Maintaining safe and clean job sites.

- Solving problems daily, proposing solutions, and asking for help and input from the management team when needed.

- Being present daily at construction sites in beautiful Highlands, NC.

- Seeking bids and cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs.

- Working with team members to make hiring decisions for trades and assigning work accordingly.

- Collaborating with and communicating daily with other team members to keep projects on budget and on timeline.

- Coordinating materials and equipment deliveries with vendors and suppliers.

- Creating schedules for workers and subcontractors.

- Scheduling necessary inspections, meeting with inspectors and implementing necessary revisions.
