women in their 20-40s only
must have flexible / on call availability
I'm looking for someone to be a companion, personal assistant, and caretaker (no training required) for my 77-yr old mother! (Please note that she can do the basics herself, so she doesn't need any assistance with things like bathing.) It's entirely in-person, and you must have your own car.
A quick backstory. In 2021, my mom was in her car, stopped at a stop sign, when someone rear-ended her at 40 mph.
She got several injuries, but by far the worst was her concussion, which has had several permanent effects. The concussion also exacerbated the mental health issues she already had, mostly mild depression and anxiety that have since escalated into major. And her memory has deteriorated from completely normal down to significantly impaired.
Day-to- day tasks include
- Light house keeping.
- Going for walks and the dog park. Must be a comfortable with pets.
- Must have reliable transportation to assist with running errands and doctors appointments.
Most importantly you must be excellent at remaining calm and positive, even when she's scattered, anxious, or rude. Previous experience working with seniors is a big plus. Must be able to not take things personally and keep a positive attitude.
Must be flexible. Will need weekend hours and must be available between 1-5pm.
