Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to lead our culinary team and create exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen management, food production, and food safety. As our dedicated kitchen manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation, from menu development to inventory management, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation.

Biltmore Village Inn is a family owned luxury bed and breakfast set atop Biltmore Village overlooking the beautiful blue ridge mountains. Our property has 8 guest rooms and when fully booked, accommodates up to 17 guests. We serve a two course breakfast each morning, bake our own pastries and cookies, and take pride in personal service by accommodating food allergies or dietary restrictions as needed.

There is lots of room to grow here and you will be given lots of creative freedom once a good rapport is established.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to get away from the restaurant scene and into a more relaxed environment. Hours will be 7:30am - 3:30pm Wednesday - Sunday. The Innkeepers will make breakfast on your days off.

Duties

Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

Manage food production processes to ensure timely service while maintaining quality standards.

Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.

Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices as needed.

Collaborate with catering team to create customized menus for special events.

Prep and prepare breakfast for up to 17 guests.

Prep breakfast for innkeepers to prepare on your days off.

Prep and bake cookies, scones, muffins, pastries.

Make 1-2 grocery store runs per week as needed.

Clean up after breakfast service utilizing our commercial Hobart dishwasher.

Keep a clean kitchen and ensure all equipment is in working order.

Establish a relationship with regional farmers.

Experience

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the culinary industry.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to stay self motivated within a small team where you will work alone quite a bit.

Knowledge of inventory management systems and food management practices.

Familiarity with catering operations is a plus.

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
