The Role:
As a Production Baker, you will play an integral role in creating the heart and soul of our bakery: great craft bread. This position is perfect for someone who is not only skilled in the art of baking but is also passionate about contributing to a collaborative and creative environment. You’ll work alongside our talented baking team to ensure that each loaf, baguette, and roll we produce exceeds our customers' expectations in both flavor and texture.
Key Responsibilities:
-Bread Production: Mix, shape, proof, and bake a wide range of craft breads, following our recipes and processes while maintaining consistency and quality.
-Quality Control: Ensure all baked goods meet our high standards for taste, texture, and appearance, adjusting as needed to maintain product excellence.
-Inventory Management: Assist in managing ingredient inventory and ensure that all baking supplies are stocked and stored properly.
-Team Collaboration: Work closely with the rest of the bakery team to ensure smooth operations and timely product availability.
-Maintenance: Keep the baking area clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards and regulations.
-Continuous Improvement: Be open to learning and experimenting with new techniques, recipes, and ideas to help grow our offerings.
Desired Skills & Experience:
-Experience: Previous experience in a bakery or other food production environment is preferred, but we are happy to train the right candidate with a passion for craft baking.
-Knowledge of Baking Techniques: A strong understanding of fermentation, mixing, shaping, and baking methods, particularly for sourdough and other craft-style breads.
-Attention to Detail: A commitment to producing high-quality products consistently.
-Team-Oriented: Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
-Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
-Passion for Baking: A love for the craft and a desire to contribute to a bakery that values quality and tradition.
