We now use our EHR, advanced analytics and sophisticated data-sharing capabilities to improve community health – all while safeguarding patients’ privacy and data security. The Institute’s Health Information Technology Services (HITS) team is responsible for the effectiveness of all technology tools, including those related to clinical operations, billing, and cybersecurity, among others. The HITS Administrative Program Manager will support the Associate Vice President of Health Information Technology Services and the HITS department to promote the mission and goals of the Institute for Family Health by conducting process improvement, collaboration and compliance activities. SUMMARY: The position of Epic Analyst requires an individual that possesses functional knowledge and skills in EPIC products that are used to conduct clinical operations. The Epic Analyst will be responsible for workflow analysis, building, training, troubleshooting, go-live and post go-live support and optimization. This position will provide guidance in the development of end user requests; perform maintenance, as well as troubleshoot the Epic applications. The candidate will participate in new development projects and system upgrades. This position requires that the candidate have strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work both independently as well as with the team. The candidate will operate as a bridge between the users, patients, and the rest of the support team. The candidate will be required to provide assistance, training, and mentoring to other members of the group. Periodic travel between Manhattan and New Paltz will be required. REQUIREMENTS:

Participates in meetings with customers and stakeholders to identify issues with current systems and to gather requests/requirements for new systems.

Recommends and designs technology solutions to business problems.

Utilizes online resources to learn about new functionality; how to implement/troubleshoot functionality; and monitor conversations amongst other customers.

Participates in meetings with vendors to troubleshoot Electronic Health Record issues and to gather requirements/recommendations for functionality.

Participates in or leads the development of high quality systems and projects using independent decision making and with minimal direction from management.

Creates, reviews, and executes system wide test plans and analyzes the results.

Evaluates new releases of the Electronic Health Record System and recommends which new features to implement.

Tests new releases of the system, this includes pre and post upgrade testing and informing about system changes

Respond to end user questions, problems and requests and provides 24/7 secondary support as part of team rotation.

Develops and executes system wide test plans and analyzes the results

Meets with team members, Epic technical service representative, and external partners on a regular basis

Superior design, development, testing, project management, customer service skills.

Full lifecycle Implementation experience including ability to build, monitor, document and revise project plans.

Possess proven ability to lead projects and project teams, including training and monitoring performance.

Has proven ability to accurately assess and create estimates for large complex projects with consideration of all system impacts.

Demonstrates abilities at communicating effectively with customers and developing solutions to customer problems under high-pressure situations with tight time frames.

Collaborative working style with the ability to work across different organizations, personalities and establish an atmosphere of trust.

Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, adapt to change, attention to detail.

Required to complete and pass EPIC Certifications as needed.

Ability to learn and apply new technologies rapidly; must have an in-depth understanding of the health care industry and the companies’ product offerings.

Continuously helps to improve the organization’s products and processes.

Qualifications

BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in business systems/data analysis, software design, development, and project management tasks. (Experience or alternative degree may be considered in lieu of required education

Basic computer and internet navigational skills

Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)

Epic Ambulatory Certification, preferred

Epic MyChart Certification

1-2 years of experience with Epic Ambulatory or MyChart is required (certification in one or more Epic Applications preferred).

5 plus years of related experience (7 years if Bachelor’s degree not present)
