Job Title: Engineering Lab ManagerJob DescriptionWe seek an experienced Engineering Lab Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will generate in-process test procedures and data sheets for PCA’s, modules, and top-level system testing. Responsibilities include designing system interface tests based on customer performance specifications and supplied documentation, including parts/material/process program requirements and top-level system test requirements such as Thermal Cycling, Thermal Vacuum, Vibration, Shock, and EMI testing. You will generate necessary engineering documentation, including failure reports, Discrepant Material Reports (DMR), Recovery Test Plans, and engineering change notices for customer review and internal updates. You will also support engineers, technicians, and engineering associates with tools, test equipment, and equipment rental/purchase. Technical understanding of passive and active system designs and temperature compensation using thermistors is essential. Familiarity with EEE parts selection, including characterization, evaluation, screening, traceability, and derating requirements for space applications, including radiation, is required.Hard Skills

Job TypeThis is a permanent position.Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Uniondale, New York.Work EnvironmentThe company designs and manufactures satellite communication systems for the aerospace, space, and defense industry. Located in Uniondale, NY, the company employs over 200 engineers and manufacturing personnel. The Mechanical Design Group will work under a new Design Supervisor following the retirement of the previous one. The group consists of two designers and a Design Manager. Due to the current staffing, this role requires a high-level candidate. Attire is casual, with lab coats provided. Working hours are 7:30 am-5:15 pm, with every other Friday off. Employees can expect between 5-20 hours of overtime paid at 1.5%.
