Job Title: Plasma OperatorJob DescriptionCNC Machine Operators play a key role in the success of the Company. They must follow company policies and work in harmony with co-workers and management to ensure the Company’s success. They perform the day-to-day activities required of them in the shop with the goal of meeting the production schedule set forth by the Shop Foreman, all while maintaining a safe working environment and staying within quality standards.Hard Skills
Studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters
Interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
Programming mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches
Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
Proving part programs
Observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing
Taking measurements and detecting malfunctions
Troubleshooting processes and adjusting/reprogramming controls
Sharpening and replacing worn tools
Adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Soft Skills
Working in harmony with co-workers and management
Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
