St. Francis has regularly out-scored other hospitals on Long Island Job Details Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our cardiovascular team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients under the supervision of our team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating cardiovascular conditions, as well as collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular medicine, excellent clinical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities 1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with cardiovascular complaints, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests. 2. Interpret diagnostic test results, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests, to diagnose cardiovascular conditions accurately. 3. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for patients with various cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias. 4. Prescribe medications, perform therapeutic procedures (e.g., venous access device insertion, cardiac device interrogation), and provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence. 5. Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care. 6. Monitor patients' progress, assess treatment efficacy, and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary. 7. Provide counseling and support to patients and their families regarding cardiovascular disease prevention, management, and rehabilitation. 8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documentation, and billing information in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. 9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and promote excellence in cardiovascular care. 10. Adhere to professional standards of practice, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements governing nurse practitioner practice. Qualifications 1. Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a specialization in cardiovascular care. 2. Current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of [insert state]. 3. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Nurses Credentialing Center - ANCC, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners - AANP). 4.
