Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled full-time, in-house Backend Web Developer to join our team and support an established eCommerce website. This role involves developing new features, refactoring legacy code, debugging, and maintaining performance on a live production site.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend functionality using PHP, PDO, and MySQL
- Optimize existing codebase and markup for performance and scalability
- Collaborate with internal teams to plan and deliver high-quality features
- Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery
- Write clean, well-documented, and secure code
- Integrate with third-party REST APIs and external libraries
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
- Expert knowledge of PHP and PDO
- Deep understanding of MySQL, including Views and Triggers
- Experience using xDebug for debugging
- Strong understanding of cURL
- Experience using Git
- Familiarity with third-party libraries and integrations
- Solid experience with jQuery and jQuery AJAX
- Proven eCommerce development experience is required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
