Description Nuvance Health is a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practice locations including The Heart Center and non-acute care affiliates.Summary:Effective management and control of the Materials Management inventories and related activity. Primary areas include operating room main supply and subsets and establishing and maintaining inventory system accuracy through handheld device. Set supply levels to adequately meet patient and support care needs of Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) to minimize the inventory investment of Nuvance Health.Responsibilities:

Management, control, and performance of inventory management activities for assigned inventories in these areas: Warehouse, Distribution Center, OR/MM services. Other services to be developed.

Accountable management and control of assigned inventory levels allowing for supply needs while minimizing Nuvance Health's investment in on-hand inventories.

Monitor stockouts, establish replenishment criteria, monitor turnover ratios, prepare for anticipated usage, be adequately prepared for disaster & emergency situations including maintenance of Item Master information in Infor System, assuring accuracy of Lawson system's on-hand quantities.

Interface with departments, areas, and units within VBMC on inventory issues related to assigned areas. Consult on inventory issues, when requested.

Participate in the development and implementation of short, medium, and long-range plans regarding assigned areas.

Teamwork and cooperation within assigned areas among other Materials Management areas, other departments, subsidiaries and units of Nuvance Health.

Participate productively on assigned committees, joint Nuvance Health projects and ventures, and other activities contributing to the benefit of Nuvance Health.

Maintain the highest degree of ethical conduct in dealings with vendors and others who provide goods and services to Nuvance Health, directly or indirectly.

Understand and operate responsibilities in compliance with Nuvance Health, state, Joint Commission & federal safety policies.

Cross-train and assist, when necessary, in the Material Coordinator position.

Pick-up and deliver supplies, equipment, materials, and other related items in accordance with a required schedule, work assignment methodology or assignment of responsibilities through management.

Document activities in accordance with management requirements.

Requirements:

High School Graduate or GED and three years of job-related experience

Knowledge/experience using automated Materials Management Systems, Inventory control techniques, supply distribution methods

Basic Outlook, Teams, and Word skills and a positive customer service attitude
