Private hire aide for man in his 40's. He is diagnosed with a spinal cord injury so he needs help getting dressed in the morning (lower body) and assistance with getting from his bed to his wheelchair. Help with wheelchair to toilet transfers as well. He needs very minimal assistance with his movement from surface to surface. He also needs help getting his legs stretched 2 x day. Once he is in his manual wheelchair, he is independent. He may need help with laundry, grocery shopping and housekeeping.
He is approved for 80 hours of aide time per week. (approx 11 1/2 hours per day). His apartment is located in Beekman towers. Applicants are required to take an aide certification course (believe it is one day) in order to be paid for this position. Ideally caregiver would be avail to help gentleman out of bed and assist with his morning care etc He will need assistance later in evening to get back into bed.
