Cox & Company, Inc. is looking for an outgoing individual who will be able to Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.Requirements
Review of customer specifications and develop system requirements with other team members
Capture schematics and select components to meet design specifications
Design development and verification support test tools
Prepare verification test procedures to demonstrate performance across power and temperature environments
Prototype hardware test, debug, documentation and design drawings
Interface with team members from other disciplines (mechanical, thermal, systems, AEH/SW) for proper flow of applicable interfaces and derived system requirements
Review electrical and environmental requirements to ensure design will meet specifications
Be familiar with typical aerospace industry environment specifications such as RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-704, MIL STD-461, MIL-STD-464
Prepare in-process and final acceptance test procedure requirements for production hardware
Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for aerospace and defense.
Prepares schematics, bills of materials, printed circuit boards, wiring harness, and assembly drawings to support active program development and legacy production builds.
Coordinates with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure overall system form, fit, function and safety requirements are achieved.
Designs and directs engineering personnel in the fabrication of test control apparatus and qualification/production test support equipment. Determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products in accordance with system requirements.
Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing procedures, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
Directs and coordinates repair assistance of production and field returns.
Coordinate with quality assurance to support production and required procedures.
Coordinates with purchasing and manufacturing planners to support obsolescence issues. Perform verification/validation of new sources.
Coordinates and prepares engineering change notice (ECN) per configuration management standards.
Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
Uses computer assisted engineering software to design and perform engineering tasks.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience Bachelor of Science degree Electrical Engineering (B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university; or an Electrical Engineering Technology degree with a minimum of 2 years if related experience.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.This position involves exposure to projects and contracts subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
