- Understand Corporate IT enterprise architecture requirements and ensure the GDS solutions (Global Development Systems) are architected in compliance. Collaborate with Corporate IT to ensure GDS business needs are considered during enterprise architecture development.
- Advise GDS teams during the solution design process to ensure business objectives are met, architecture requirements are adhered to, effective transition plans are in place, and the solution can be supported.
- Actively participate in the Solution Design and Engineering Review (SDER) process to assist in communicating solution architecture and, if required, rationalizing exceptions.
- Communicate enterprise architecture principles, policies, guidelines, and standards to GDS personnel.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Corporate IT and GDS business and technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of the technology strategy and associated roadmap.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture governance – decision-making to ensure principles, policies, guidelines, and standards enable business objectives.
- Continually research emerging technologies and leading practices that will enable achievement of business objectives or increase GDS efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Build and maintain relationships with Corporate IT and GDS stakeholders and peers (business and technical) needed to facilitate solution design and achievement of business objectives.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry a must
- Strong knowledge cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and hybrid cloud architectures
- At least 12 years’ IT experience (or equivalent) within application or infrastructure
- At least 5 years experience in a architect role
- Possess a holistic view of IT and experience across multiple domains - applications, software development, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud services, and security
- Proven experience leading solution design
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to ask the right questions to uncover the core of the problem
- Knowledge of TOGAF
- Knowledge of ISO 27001
- Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or related field
- Masters degree in Computer Science or MBA
- TOGAF certification
