Location: Gilbertsville, NY

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours/week (Wed–Fri 9 a.m.–5 p.m.), some flexibility after 90 days. Additional hours may be available during the holiday season.

Compensation: $18–$21/hour, depending on experience

We sell online to customers across the U.S. and internationally, and we manufacture and ship from our local facility. You’ll be joining a mission-driven team that balances high standards with a little irreverence.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Production Manager who loves working independently, making things by hand, and keeping operations running smoothly. This role is part maker, part shipper, part shopkeeper—and 100% essential.

This position will be trained over six weeks (Wed–Fri, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with a lunch break from 12–1 p.m.). After the 90-day mark, regular hours remain the same, with the potential for some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture bath and body products (bath bombs, lotion bars, scrubs, body butters, bath salts, lip balms) according to shop procedures, maintaining order, cleanliness, and quality.

Package, label, and store products.

Maintain shop safety—even in the busy seasons.

Help in-store customers on occasion, guiding them through our product selection.

Communicate professionally with suppliers and delivery folks.

Spot opportunities to improve production and shop systems.

Manage supply inventory and reorder as needed.

Resolve everyday customer service issues (review requests, onboarding, shipping problems).

Print product labels, packing lists, and shipping labels.

Pull and pack orders according to shop procedures.

Deliver orders to the post office (0.1 mile away) using your vehicle.

Maintain product inventory and prepare restock lists to keep inventory levels healthy.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.

1–2 years in a fast-paced, hands-on job (food service, production, or retail preferred).

Clear, professional written and spoken communication.

Friendly and helpful with customers, suppliers, and delivery drivers.

Self-motivated and thrives working independently.

Punctual, accountable, and reliable.

Strong manual dexterity and comfort with hands-on work.

Organized and able to juggle multiple projects.

Comfortable adjusting to both fast-paced days and slower ones.

Computer literacy: Excel, Google Suite, and familiarity with order tracking/shipping platforms.

Bonus points for graphic design skills.

Comfortable wearing a dust respirator (provided) when working with clays, micas, and other particulates.

Passionate about small business and women’s rights.

Must have your own transportation.

Extra bonus: Love for natural skincare and/or personal care products.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and squatting on a wood shop floor.

Regular lifting and carrying of up to 55 lbs (supply bags, outgoing shipments, mailbags).

Constant fine motor work (grasping, pinching, using hand tools).

Visual acuity to inspect products and read small print quickly and accurately.
